Answer: Chapters 1–79 of Becoming Janice… fingers crossed!

Nice take on an old joke, wouldn’t you agree? But seriously now, because the publisher of Janice, Iguana Books, is located in Toronto, we’ve been doing an outreach to 30 great Canadian bookstores and the major library wholesalers, inviting them to add Becoming Janice to their store stock and/or catalogue as a perfect #PrideRead for 2025. In addition, we’ve selected ten of the best stores to receive a special gift copy of the book as a way to celebrate Janice’s *first* birthday.

My thanks to Chris of #TheIdeaShop.ca for conducting the campaign and getting these copies of Janice out into the world in time for #PrideMonth.

So far, Chris reports, the response has been encouraging, along the lines of “thank you — we are excited to hear about this book and consider adding it to our store catalogue.” On the downside, we’ve also had a couple of notices that the American-based distributor (Ingram) is not the vendor of choice at the moment in Canada, due to very high shipping costs incurred by some elements of #TrumpTariffs (though still no tariffs on books, thank heavens).
